Describe Yourself:A Senior with a young attitude. I love life. I like being alone but when out with others I enjoy that too. I am more a middle of the road-er and on most subjects, I seem to always see both sides.
I have a strong spiritual belief, not necessarily religious. I have traveled a good part of the world, published a novel, written more words than I could ever count and enjoyed the various phases of my life. This phase the best of all. -
On Gather, I'm Looking For ...:interesting people. People who think about interesting subjects and like to discuss them.

Sharon K., Oct 25, 2009, 6:47PM EDTMary, I do appreciate what you've been through and how you became a stronger person but I don't believe that your method is for everyone. I've tried it for many years and it hasn't helped me at all.
My sister died a week and a half ago, October 13, after a three and a half year battle with colon cancer, she lost and the cancer won. She was 54. She was very sick with arthritis for years before that and couldn't walk at all. I took care of her. I used up all of my IRA and I had to apply for Welfare. I get $80 a month from them and they pay $200 of my $900 rent. My sister's SSI paid the rest of the rent. Now my sister is gone and I'm hysterical every day. I am alone, I have no relatives, I'm not married, and I have problems walking too because of arthritis in my knees and hips. Because my sister's SSI is gone now I won't be able to pay rent this month, or next month, or the month after that, I won't be able to pay bills either. I couldn't afford to bury my sister. The Rabbi at the hospice she was in told me to call Hebrew Free Burial. They buried my sister for me and reserved the grave next to her for me.
Before all of tha, my parents were very ill when they were alive. They both ended up in a wheel chair and my sister and I had to take them to their doctor's appointments.
I never married, never teally had a life because of family resposibilities. I would not have done it differently. My parents and my sister were very important to me.
Nothing can help me now, not meditation, positive thinking, grabbing life by the tail, nothing will help me now. The only thing I have left to look foward to is to be next to my sister and I hope it's very soon. I'm 57 and feel like I'm 97, I'm alone, I can't walk, and will most likely be out in the streets very soon.
Your method is wonderful for some people but not for all. It won't help me at all. -
Karen E., Oct 18, 2009, 12:27PM EDTMary, thanks for joining Sound Healing. I can't wait for everyone to get to know my sister Shara. She has so much to bring to us with Sound Healing. She is new to Gather so if you get a chance, send her a friendship request.
